Urinary Tract Infection TreatmentHow To Cure A UTI Effectively

I am sure you have been looking for ways how to cure a UTI, especially if you have been suffering from it for days. In fact, there are many ways on how to cure a urinary tract infection without necessarily going to the doctor, in case the symptoms happen at a most unfortunate time.UTI, or Urinary Tract Infection, is medically termed as the invasion of bacteria into the urinary tract system. The bacteria enter the urinary tract from the opening of the urethra, and then go further into the urinary tract. There are generally many causes of UTI. The most common ones would be the bacteria from sexual intercourse, having multiple sexual partners and when holding in urine for too long.
If not treated in time, UTI can actually be painful and may cause serious problems to the person affected. It can spread to your kidneys, which can consequently result in serious health problems. Because of the many disadvantages caused by UTI, it is no wonder that people have found ways to cure UTI even when no doctors are around.
There are many kinds of natural and home remedies that you can use when you want to know how to cure UTI. But aside from that, successfully treating UTI should not end there, and further prevention should also be the key. To do this, not only should you use herbal remedies, but you also need to adapt a change of lifestyle. This is especially applicable to people who have experienced UTI more than once in their life; you are obviously doing something wrong.
Flushing out the bacteria from your body naturally is actually a lot simpler than people think. Doing something as simple as drinking full 8 glasses of water a day will actually help in successfully flushing out the bacteria that is causing the UTI, but this isn’t enough. You also need to ingest a lot of vitamin C, so eating fruits and drinking natural juices that are high in vitamin C is essential on how to cure a UTI. All these remedies also work well as a cystitis treatment.
UTI is not such a serious sickness, but it should not be taken lightly either, and should not be ignored. Doing so can mean bad things for important organs in your body that directly interact with your urinary tract, such as the kidneys. Fight against your urinary tract infection now before it gets worse.
Not sure where to start? Why not try the methods outlined in the UTI report? This is one of my favorite ways to get rid of those nagging infections, and best of all, it’s 100% natural.

I got a UTI about 2 weeks ago with the symptoms of having the feeling the urge to urinate, pain while urinating, faint blood, ordor to the urine, and cloudy urine. I started drinking lots of water and some of the symptons went away and then I thought it was gone after that and now about 6 days ago I have been having the symptoms of feeling the urge to urinate, oder to urine aand cloudiness to it. I am only 13 and don’t know what I should do? Is it dangerous having it this long? Help please!

Hi Andrea,
You did the right thing by trying to flush out the bacteria with water. But it sounds like you didn’t follow the regimen long enough to flush out ALL the germs. Since drinking water helped you before, try sticking to it for a while longer this time. If it does not go away after a few days, then you need to start with stronger treatments, before you get a bladder/kidney infection.

Hello.. i always suffer pain from UTI.. I just want to ask, is it okay to put vicks vaporub to vagina when you feel so much in pain? please answer.. thank you..

Hi Rochelle,
Definitely not! Vicks is used to help soothe and open your chest for better breathing, not for pain relief or for disinfection. It would burn like crazy if you did!
If you are certain it is a UTI, then try some of the remedies outlined on this site, or to save time, have a look at Mary Jo’s UTI Report.

Hi Mike,
While a healthy diet is a good start to get your UTI treated and for future prevention, you also need to try other remedies that specifically target the bacteria causing the infection.

hi just wanna ask how would you know that the UTI is getting serious?
what are the common /natural remedies to cure this uti.?
thank you!!Sharon said on May 11th, 2011
Hi Nicole,
When a UTI becomes a serious threat to your health, generally you’ll find your urine becomes very cloudy, sometimes even tainted with blood. And if it has spread to your bladder, then you’ll feel excruciating pain around your lower abdomen.
On this site I have provided a lot of natural remedies you can try to get rid of your UTI before opting for medications. You can start by looking at these UTI home remedies.
Alternatively, I’d suggest trying the remedies outlined in the UTI Report. You can read my review of it here.
That should get you on the right path to cure your UTI, if you have one of course

Hi Anon,
No problem. You need to drink at least 8 glasses over the course of the day. And definitely not all at once

Hi,
I think I might have a UTI but I haven’t been to the doctor. I urinate frequently, both sides of my lower back hurt badly at random times, there r times where I do feel like a cramping pain in my lower abdomen, however my urine isn’t really cloudy, nd it doesn’t hurt when I urinate I just feel a weird pressure right at the end. I just wonder if this can be a UTI or something else?Sharon said on May 31st, 2011
Hi Nets,
I think it’s best to check with your doctor first. Then if you find out it’s a UTI, and you want to cure it naturally, you can always come back to the site later for some tips and advice.

If you catch a UTI early and follow all the necessary things to cure it, how long should it take for it to be treated?

I feel that my 2 and a half year old may have a UTI, since she has been crying a little when she pees. I read your advice on veggies, vitamin C , and water but it is very difficult to try and get her to eat/drink any of those items. Is there any else that can be done besides going to her doctor? I bought some cranberry juice but I am not sure if that is better for prevention rather than treatment. I could use some advice.

I think the best thing you could do is speak to your doctor about it first, just to make sure that she does in fact have a UTI.
Sharon said on June 29th, 2011
Hi Nikki,
It depends on the severity of your UTI, your current health and how well your body responds to natural remedies. Some people have found relief in a couple of hours, some after 24 hours and others a few days. Everyone’s healing process is different.

Hi, I’ve been having to go to the bathroom ALLOT and every time i do i Reeeeaaalllyy hurts! and right after going, it feels like i need to again even though not much comes out! :@ it stings but im not sure if it smells, or if its cloudy because so little comes out! i have looked up symptoms and pretty much all of them apply
im only 13 and i haven’t tried any of the remodys like drinking water or fruit juice yet, how long will it take before i start seeing improvements (with the juice or water) because it REALLY REALLY hurts to pee
i dont really want to have to go to the doctorsHelp!
Sharon said on July 9th, 2011
Hi Paige,
It sounds like you have UTI. For natural remedies, I would start with drinking water on a regular basis, and also try pure cranberry juice (not diluted with other fruits, and no added sugar). It is better to drink these regularly, than all at once. So aim for about 8 glasses a day. Depending on the severity of your urinary tract infection, you could find relief withing the first day or sometimes longer. If your symptoms persist, then you may need to speak to a pharmacist or you doctor for stronger treatments.
Also try avoid acidic foods (like sugary sweets, chips, fast-foods, cookies, etc) and get some vegetables in your diet.
All the best,

Okay, so I woke up this morning and went to the restroom. Felt pain during urination and was like “wow this hurts…. hope its not a uti ” so then I went to work, and as the day progressed I started feeling terrible burning sensations in my blatter and I knew instantly it was a UTI…. so I scheduled a Dr appointment right away and of course it was positive. However, this is my question.
Could I have very well had this UTI for a while and not have noticed because I wasn’t having symptoms? Or can a UTI just happen over night? Cause it seemed that way. I was perfectly fine yesterday and all of a sudden today, I have pain, bloody urine and the feeling that I have to pee like every five minutes…. the blood is what really scares me…..
Sharon said on August 30th, 2011
Hey Malissa,
It is possible that you may have had a mild UTI for a while without really noticing any signs. And either something you ate or drank the day before triggered the bacteria to suddenly multiply overnight.
It is a good thing that you took control ASAP and went to see your doctor, since urinary tract infections can get worse really fast (as you’ve experienced). The good news is that you can get rid of the infection just as fast as it sprung up on you – either with some of the remedies outlined on this site and in the UTI Report, or with over-the-counter and prescription medications for extreme cases.

Hello, I need help .. For the past four(4) days I’ve been experiencing of pain while urinating also i have a cloudy urine. I just wanted to ask if that is the symptoms of UTI. I also noticed that after i urinate my *** is itchy. I haven’t go to the doctor yet because I’m scared
also my family are having financial problems. I need an answer ASAP. I’ve been suffering for four(4) days
I’m 17 yrs. old. Thank You. !Sharon said on September 3rd, 2011
Hi Roman,
It sounds like you have a UTI. I’d suggest starting off with drinking at least 8 glasses of water throughout the day. You could substitute half the water with 100% cranberry juice. If you do not like the taste of cranberry juice, then visit your local pharmacy for all natural capsules that contain cranberry extract.
If the UTI does not subside after this treatment, then seek the help of a doctor for stronger alternatives.

would like to know more about uti. you are doing a wonderful job….
